The Day The Dinosaur Came to School

THE DAY THE DINOSAURS CAME TO SCHOOL

One day before school we were barely awake
When suddenly we felt a tremendous earthquake
We felt them stomping, we heard them roaring
We saw them flying and we saw them soaring

A Pterodactyl, a Triceratops
A Brontosaurus name Morris
An Octodon, a big T-Rex
And Doris Stegosaurus

They said they wanted to learn math, reading and art
We said we’d help them, help them get a good start
We visited the library to read good books
Before they knew it, they were hooked

Computers and modeling clay finished the day
And then we were ready to go out and play

T-Rex kicked the ball best
It flew all the way out to the wild west
Morris the Brontosaurus was a giant slide
And Doris Stegosaurs gave us dinosaur rides
“Now it’s time to go,” they said
“Oh no!” we said, “please stay!”

So they promised they’d return to play
And learn some other day
