I've been told a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet
If that's the case how come so many of my friends are now strangers? Them I've already met
Friends often feel like they’re trying to get
Something from me
And honestly
I sometimes go along with it so I won't be left by my lonely
So no, that view of strangers I don't see
As a rapper, maybe I'm a little green
I call strangers "Lives I haven't seen"
But when two strangers get together to do something neat
That is truly beautiful, two lives, intersecting for the first time, working together even though they're strangers after they meet
After they greet
Working together to amp up the beat
I don't trust friends
Too often they're just pretend
But a stranger who really comes to support you in the end
It’s beautiful
Someone I don’t know gives time for me out of theirs
Though don't worry, I ain’t getting hooked by no Nigerian Heir
Even if working with someone you don't know offers danger
If we don't have them listed in our pager
We're warned that people we don’t know we need to avoid them
What did Jesus come for then?
He didn't tell us to avoid one another
So when you say they present danger
Then for what in the world did The Lord come down to lie in a manger?
So even if we're different, don't view as dangers
View us as strangers
