A face in the crowd
A figure moving downstream
I remembered when I watched you float away
In a river of your own tears
To a sea of self contempt
In a watercolor painting
With the secrets that you kept

I should have held that thought
Instead I let it hold me
Could I have intervened
Was I too quick to let go
