Silver Leaf

time moves on and summer is left behind
the happiness seen in pictures
was left in summer, was left behind
now time flows into autumn
with bright horizons so hard to find
a silver leaf blows in the cold fall wind
and jars a memory hidden inside

and just remember what should have been
and that the memories will never end

years will come and go
and time will try to wash away
reflections, once not important
but now with meaning, now so sublime
a brush of a hand, or a sparkle in an eye
a drive into the sunrise
