Light is a form of energy
That radiates waves which we can see.
These waves of light can pass through spaces
of some materials, solid or gaseous
And when our eyes behold the light
We get pleasure we call sight
Light from sun or light bulbs is incandescent
Light from sparks and some gas is called fluorescent
We use light, plants use it too to make food from water and CO2
Light travels fast
And it is reckoned to go at 186,282 miles per second
The phenomenon wе call reflection is caused by light particlеs striking an object and bouncing off in another direction
The amount of light received by any resistance decreases by the inverse square of the distance
Well in other words, if you stand two feet from a light you're bright and if you stand one foot from the light you are four times as bright, right?
Right, right..
Now one property of light is called refraction
You'll understand it more if I give you a piece of the action
Stick your finger in a water glass and look at it all from the side, your finger will appear to be mint
And that's the action of refraction, main attraction
Light waves come in many lengths and we see colors of different strengths
The longest waves seem to be red
The shortest seem to be purple instead
When all the colors of light project
You won't see what you might expect
Instead of rainbows in your sight
You'll only see a patch of white
And one more thing you'll probably hear,
Someone mentioning a light year
Well light years are distances superheros
Their length is six followed by twelve zeroes
