That spirit, who is you, and me
Uses electricity to create problems
And find solutions
And to manufacture our illusions
About a hundred billion cells are stored inside some juice
They hold our information for now and future use.
Ten other billion nerve cells, called neurons, by the trade
give orders to the storage cells, and that's how memory is made
Now, each neuron can hold up to 10,000 contact points
These send electricity jumping over spacеs
Invisible joints, called synapses
That's most of us. Mish on diffеrent
There's synapses, issue, real, body, tissue
The way it all works is remarkable
For a dog, it might even be barkable
In each neuron cell, a molecular group of a substance's more telling than alphabet soup
A substance some folks call, RNA, sends orders the storage cells obey
These storage or glial cells know all the rules.
They begin to make proteins, molecules
And the way the molecules are grown
Gives us memories of our own
But still there remains a great mystery
How did we get our first memory?
Now I offer you a Royal Flush
And I want you all to remember to look at your 8th grade music textbook.
Exploring music is the name of the one. Just turn to page 41.
And when you do, here's what you'll find. These words, a gift to your memory from mine:
My heart beats
Electrically
My brain computes
Program me
I am complicated
Let me be
I am new
Program me
This trip
Reality
Is mine if you
Let me be
I am love
And I am free
I am a child
Program me
