I first acquainted was with this
Fine and tempestuous land
While a-crossing o’er the saintly trap
Laid down by a hangman’s hand
We christened it proudly Revere Reach
To flatter its bountiful sound
Addressed it to swallows and wood pigeons all
And black-headed gulls on the call
Three swans there be a-paddling close
Approaching tenderly
With countenance regal viewing their home
With a warmth and sympathy
The day it melts into the night
And the stars begin to smile
The moon shines over Revere Reach
And we decide to stay for awhile
I first acquainted was with this
Fine and tempestuous land
While a-crossing o’er the saintly trap
Laid down by a heavenly hand
We laugh and we sigh
A-bring a tear to an eye
Such joy will ever remain
Until the end of our day
