Ex-Cardiacs keyboardist William D. Drake is best honoured by the fact that, for live venues after he left, the band opted to use recordings of his playing instead of finding another keyboardist as they felt he couldn’t be matched. Through sporadic releases under bands such as The Sea Nymphs, Nervous and a self-titled venture with an ever-changing [although now seemingly settled] lineup, his distinctive singing voice and virtuosic piano handling always make themselves welcome whenever they appear.
