I recorded this song with a sore throat and fever. It was one of my favorite songs to record lyrically and under the condition, the song really helped me heal and get things off my chest. Including the mucous!
[Intro: Johnny Juliano & Jet 2]

A nigga kinda sick, but uhh
It don't matter
Wait
A nigga kinda sick but uhh
Here we go
[Verse: Jet 2]
All odds against me, but I'm far from the loser
Refuse to lose, 'cause I simply feel I'm just too tough
Under the weather, but never under the mood
To fly under the moon, the sky is under my view
I am still rapping even when I feel sick
Mucous in my membrane, but a nigga still spit
That crazy Mucinex flow, you can feel shit
Or just spazz out and hit the fuckin' kill switch
I'm on like no backwards
And so straightforward, I am so faster
Than a four-one forty, such a problem with no answer
And y'all just exhausted like Flowmasters
And though my brother taught me never trust it if it's easy
She'll fuck if she too conceited
And it's coming if she teasing
I just always find a reason to never ever believe it
But instructions are between the lines if you read 'em
Road to success, this is green light season
Fast lane pace like I planted green light seeds
In the soil, and I'm spoiled 'cause I'm feelin' my team
Is close to getting more exposure than the Facebook news feed is
For the simple fact I never believed that
Where there's a will, there's a way, every goal I can reach it
Even if results don't come so immediate
Hard work is the key, put the key in it
But you already knew that
Got it to the point I barely try, but I can do that
I advance every second from my inception is a
Large development, but still room for improvement
I'm working like this a movie, on set
And I just hope to be able to do me and win free like Oprah
And get rid of this cold and this fuckin' sore throat
Keep the bull away from me, dog, I prefer a tosa
We're all the same if you really look closer
But I ain't with the drama, I'm just tryna chill like a sofa
Call a couple homies, and ladies invite 'em over
If the ladies all down, probably beat it like a conga
And in my flows, I never mean to sound rude
I probably say all that shit to sound cool
'Cause truthfully, I prefer a lady that's willing to hold out
Long enough to the point where she never make it to rumors
Which girl you know do that?
And if you ever ever find her, then remind her
That kind of shit is keeper status
The type of shit you dream about
Where they hiding at? Bring 'em out, bring 'em out
And these are just some things I'm thinkin' 'bout
Seems all artists run into similar problems
'Cause it always seems you're searching for that one night lady
'Til that one night lady turns to one you might date
And you ain't trying to see her on another one night date
Especially if it ain't you on that one quite day
So never trust a bitch is what some might say until
It's that one quite day
But hey
On a brighter note, I think I'm wrapped up in love
With the apple of my eye and a Macbook, uh
So the negatives, I ain't really ever hearing that
The way I rap words, Microsoft Word paragraphs
Uhh, I think that was whatever
And school is my pep-rally, I don't never spell checkers
Long as string beans, my greens are bell peppers
I'm so out of this world, 'cause I'm a trend setter
Nigga spittin' in monotone only because I feel like
Even if my lead's dull, point still bright
I'm therapeutic, TheraFlu it on an ill night
And if you don't feel it, you can mute it if you feel like
Nigga
[Outro]
No Recognition
I can't even say nigga
Aye I really love all y'all
I really appreciate all the support and everything
Thank you for joining me
I always gotta do that shit 'cause it's like
I feel I wouldn't be no where ever if it wasn't for y'all
Just so you know
Yeah
Recognition was written by Jet 2.
Recognition was produced by Johnny Juliano.
Jet 2 released Recognition on Sun Oct 03 2010.
This is one of my favorite songs lyrically. Especially with the inspirational vibe of the instrumental Johnny Juliano produced, it is a perfect closer to No Recognition. Recognition.
I enjoyed the part where I said “‘Cause it always seems you’re searching for that one night lady
'Til that one night lady turns to one you might date
And you ain’t trying to see her on another one night date
Especially if it ain’t you on that one quite day.” And “I just hope to be able to do me and...
