Psychosis (Interlude)

I can see somebody inside my peripheral
Turn my head & they’re there for a second
When they’re gone, a cold shiver gets to sending
& I’m left wondering if my mind is warped or if what I saw was some sort of specter
This is supernatural, substance abuse
I’ve got nothing to lose
Every time I spot a shadow out the corner of my eye, I’m left worried & confused
Am I manifesting demons?
Or are the demons in my schizophrenic-
Brain, no sentience except for myself until the day that I’m dead
When the thoughts start to wander, I wonder
Is anybody real or will the simulation crumble?
Underneath every calm & collected moment
I have is a mind that’s losing focus
I can feel the psychosis taking over
When I’m 60 years old, I won’t even notice
& that’s where the suicidal ideation comes from
When I realize that I’m in a vessel
Depersonalizing ‘til I’m at a point where
The only way out’s self-medicating
Sweating in my bed, I am sedated
My family religious, I’m never praying
Can’t keep a gun out of fear of shootin’
Myself in an episode, television
Always runnin’, I was humble
‘Til I had voices call to me in mumbles
I translate the things they say inside my
Head & I keep it all to myself ‘til
I cannot stand them, all the plans they
Have for me, I cannot manage
