Recorded in 1990, “Perch Warble” was a part of the scrapped Back to Saturn X project before later being considered for an early version of Bee Thousand. It would be officially released in 2000 on the Suitcase box set, under the fake band name 8th Dwarf.
An alternate version was included on Suitcase...
[Verse]
Perch warble
She wants to level, it's okay
Her rebuttal
To her, the level is delayed
[Chorus]
She can take you down a ways
She can run you down a ways
She can hold you down
She can hold you down
[Verse]
Perch warble
She wants to level, it's okay
Her rebuttal
To her, the level is delayed
[Chorus]
She can take you down a ways
But I'm hoping she won't stay
[Bridge]
And she'll hold you just to touch you
And I told her not to trust you
And she's flying high
And she's leaving the yard
'Cause she's a rolling devil
She's a rolling devil
And she's rolling something away
Perch Warble was written by Robert Pollard.
