Here you go again
Another parachute kid
Watching airplanes pass
On the miracle bridge
Getting lost in the winds
Being 25 years old
I've still got money
And a get-rich scheme
But I'm slowly learning
What it's costing me
Like the grief that we kept
In the pockets of the clothes we sold
I can't believe
How long I've survived
When I've got these body bags
Under my eyes
That carry all the dead weight
That I haven't let go
I had it all figured out back then
At the staircase
Second floor mom's house
In a shared space
How could I ever leave my camp days
Still untold
The fake ghost stories
And the real ones too
The bonfire ashes
In your childhood room
We were teenage tragedies
Bound to go up in smoke
So I drove my friends
From the countryside
To the emergency room
Pissed drunk that night
I bet there's still a little
Silver lining left in your bone
So there's a part of us
That I know will change
But I'll still remember you
In those tones of gray
Like the yearbook photos
That we always say stole our souls
Here you go again
Another parachute kid
Watching airplanes pass
On the miracle bridge
Getting lost in the winds
Being 25 years old
I've still got money
And a get-rich scheme
But I'm slowly learning
What it's costing me
Like the grief that we kept
In the pockets of the clothes we sold
I can't believe
How long I've survived
When I've got these body bags
Under my eyes
That carry all the dead weight
That I haven't let go
The people that the books
Make no mention of
Are the heroes that we met
At the breakfast club
Before we all got
Our graduate degrees
In being alone
We put the stars in our eyes
Then we took them back out
In Ithaca New York
What I shouldn't have found
On a dorm room bed
Where my legs swung down
To the floor
Spiritual autumns
In the New Jersey rain
From my first apartment
Saw my first hurricane
With no lights on
And no running trains
To take us home
We shot a teen movie
In our car that summer
I think I fell asleep
I was half-undercover
Still dreaming of a future
Where we wouldn't see
Each other get old
Here you go again
Another parachute kid
Watching airplanes pass
On the miracle bridge
Getting lost in the winds
Being 25 years old
I've still got money
And a get-rich scheme
But I'm slowly learning
What it's costing me
Like the grief that we kept
In the pockets of the clothes we sold
I can't believe
How long I've survived
When I've got these body bags
Under my eyes
That carry all the dead weight
That I haven't let go
Here you go again
Another parachute kid
Thinking this'll be the one
This time has gotta be it
But I might have to hit the ground
Before I know
