It's j- I don't know
Something about hip hop and about rap specifically, I think, demands just, uh, uh, mistakes or just doing whatever you want, in a way, um
In order to get to a certain result, um
And I think a lot of the DIY nature of rap, specifically, um, is great, because in this current generation, y'know, we have people who just kinda are able to make these full songs and albums and do everything by themselves
Um, like, I think a notable, uh, person who's like this is Billie Eilish
Her brother like produces еverything and they started in thе bedroom, and, um, she's like one of the biggest pop stars right now
And, y'know, she's selling out arenas and #1
And it's all from the bedroom
And they still make the conscious choice, the conscious decision not only to work with each other but to work in, in their bedroom, um
And, y'know they've turned down like studio offers, like, "Oh, you can work in this studio with all this equipment-"
Like, "no, we wanna do it the way-"
And I think that that's an interesting, that's an interesting place we're at in terms of music right now
Specifically, and I think that it's largely in part due to hip-hop
Because a lot of how it started was, these, these, uh, black and brown kids who in the 70's who, uh didn't have much but were, were taking what they knew from African-American music
The funk, the soul that was, was alive during that time and sampling that
These breakbeats and everything
And, uh, it kinda just evolved into what we have now as kind of the default genre of music, right now, at least
