“Oh, Wolf” contains many nods to the 17th century European fairytale “Little Red Riding Hood”. While the music video features a fun, campy, ghost story narrative, the lyrics convey a macho character with a bark worse than his bite, and the protagonist cutting him down to size.
In the middle of the backwoods
You're a menace
Big bad wolf with gold teeth
And a necklace
Big and buff and
Seldom bluffing
Huffing and puff and
Blow your house down
Bloodshot eyes looking hostile
Coming outside
With a bag and a bottle
But you’re not fooling anyone
Oh, wolf
You howl so loud though
No one's at home
You're all alone, wolf
Out in the cold
Who fears you now, wolf?
You come running, but I’m
Not afraid of nothing, I can
Tell you've been fronting, acting tough
You're made of mutton and it shows
You keep saying we should
All be afraid like the boy that cried your name and
Fear the day you come to town
Cry wolf, getting old
Outside, all alone
With no one listening anymorе
Oh, wolf
You howl so loud though
No one's at home
You're all alonе, wolf
Out in the cold
Who fears you now, wolf?
Oh, wolf
Oh, wolf
Oh, no you're not that scary
Oh, wolf
