Mumbling

I hear the wind whispering through the leaves
Talking of proof of things I’ve never seen
Singing a song in polyphony
With their arms outstretched
In a green fingered canopy
But here on the ground I can just hear the sound
But can’t make out the words
They say all creation is in song
But i am mumbling along

I feel the ghost inside of my machine
Pushing against the limits of my skin
Drawing my eyes to periphery
To the things I’ve missed
That have been sitting right next to me
And though they’ve always been there
I’ve glanced but not stared
But never truly saw
They say all things march to kingdom come
But I am stumbling along

I don’t know the words but I sing along
I don’t know the way, but I follow anyway
