Muddy Water

When you see muddy waters come backing up to your door
And the one you love say she don’t want you no more
Lord, the river is rising right around my door
Every time it rains, I have to go

Then the river looked lonesome as I went waiting
Lord I thought one time that the poor boy was lost
I went up on the mountain to see the rising sun
Please tell me which-a way does the river run
