[Verse 1]
Well, the first step is to talk 'til they give in
Don't give it up until you get it
Break down their walls
'Til you're living inside their mind for free
That's when you know that you're winning
Wrapped around your finger you're spinning
The story so you look good in it
Is that so bad of me?
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm a liar, I'm a counterfeit
Yeah, I'm good at it
Burning your desire, I never meant it
Yeah, I'm full of shit
[Chorus]
I keep stalling, I keep stalling
I keep stalling with no apologies
Why you falling, why you falling
Why you falling, falling hard over me?
[Verse 2]
What makes you so complacent?
My heart is known to be vacant
And I'm uncomfortably impatient
I lack stability
Get you to do what I want whenever
You put me under so much pressure
What makes you think we were forever?
Why so much hostility?
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm a liar, I'm a counterfeit
Yeah, I'm good at it
Burning your desire, I never meant it
Yeah, I'm full of shit
[Chorus]
I keep stalling, I keep stalling
I keep stalling with no apologies
Why you falling, why you falling
Why you falling, falling hard over me?
[Post-Chorus]
Tables have turned, and I'm feeling quite twisted
For once in my life, well, the power has shifted
Do you feel worthless?
Do you feel pain?
I manipulated you like it was a game
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm a liar, I'm a counterfeit
Yeah, I'm good at it
Burning your desire, I never meant it
Yeah, I'm full of shit
[Chorus]
I keep stalling, I keep stalling
I keep stalling with no apologies
Why you falling, why you falling
Why you falling, falling hard over me?
[Post-Chorus]
Tables have turned, and I'm feeling quite twisted
For once in my life, well, the power has shifted
Do you feel worthless?
Do you feel pain?
I manipulated you like it was a game
Manipulate was produced by marinelli & Mikey Freedom Hart.
Wallice released Manipulate on Fri Nov 15 2024.
I wrote this with a “male manipulator” character in mind in a role reversal in dating. This song is sonically obviously inspired by my favourite band of all time Radiohead, which I reference being a Radiohead ripoff in an earlier song on the album “The Opener”.
