A remix of I Seen a Man Die by Scarface. I just wanted to do a different type of narrative here to close out the tape; not my narrative or anything personal but just a narrative I got in my head thinking of this track, like a person angry about their father’s death.
[Intro]
One time for your mind
Just a narrative I wanted to present
We may not see eye to eye sometimes
[Hook x4]
But I'm glad to be the man's child
[Verse 1]
Was born a fetus, after nine months I saw the light
It was a couple days but I knew something wasn't right
I had to be kept in Intensive Care for nine months
I'm still surprised that I didn't die up front
A man taketh away, and two others are gifted upon us
Life is precious, and the gift upon me is an honor
Out of all the ones to race to the finish
I know how painful it is, but I'm glad I stayed til' the finish
I promise to make you proud of me
I promise to be loud and funny
I'm finally here, it's been a damn while
Finally here, I'm glad to be the man's child
[Hook]
[Verse 2]
Shit, you looking gravely ill, it's the sign of a test
Sorta breathing, looking to get something off of your chest
The look in your eyes, you feel nothing is awful as death
It's not as bad as it seems, I know it's hard to accept
It's just your time, I promise you it's peaceful
I accept you because I know your not evil
Once your taken to heaven, two will be born in your place
Life is precious, but you look me straight dead in the face
Death is a scary motherfucker, I'll admit
But now it's time to exit so let's snap out of this
Your family will join soon but it'll be a damn while
And I'm sure that your son is glad to be the man's child
[Hook]
[Verse 3]
I've never seen a man die
But I've seen so many men cry over death like ten times
Father I don't think you hear me but if you do
What gives you the right to pick and choose
What gives you the right to cast judgment
What gives you the right to cast souls into black summits
It wasn't his time and you know this
How you expect me to be blind and not notice
Stop and focus, heed my words and my questions
How can life be a gift if it isn't precious
Why should you determine if it's time to go
Everyone die so damn quick, but in sadness you die so slow
You may give me life but you took one away from me
Hopelessness, look at me, why couldn't he stay with me
To the father above it'll be a damn while
But I'm still glad, I got to be the man's child
[Hook]
