“Limbo”, the longest track on the EP, contrasts Gao’s life as he contemplates what he should use his energy on. He compares a car crash to him having a creative epiphany, with everything else plunging as a result.
(Verse)
Tell me how to see between the streetlights
Muzzle flash in the tunnel so I freeze
For a second you are are beckoned
Start to stumble to the sea side
Once the lighthouse crumbles
Turns to rubble, all the puddles seem so deep
Eyes closed, backstroking in a fish tank
Or maybe I'm just dead already
Road is black while the streets are running red already
I'm just shifting my weight off my blisters
I'm drifting in limbo
(Hook)
Shuffled through the darkness
Fucking jumped without a harnеss then my limbs broke
Wasn't buckled through thе car crash
Chuckle, shrug, "a fuck up's harmless" I don't think so
Punishment for martyrs is pointless as the pardons that I spit roast
I'm stuck in limbo
(Verse 2)
Lost my way before I lost my sight
One mistake I'm sure could cost my life
And here I am floating and hoping I can do this
I am foolish
Brief moments of epiphany
Feel bogus, leave progress as mystery
Seeing focus means omen of my misery
I'm wandering the desert
Even Moses keeled over and he split the sea at one point
Where are you going
Couldn't tell if you held me up at gun point
Sometimes I'm clinging to the rungs but then
I slip and end up plunged into limbo
(Hook)
Shuffled through the darkness
Fucking jumped without a harness then my limbs broke
Wasn't buckled through the car crash
Chuckle, shrug, "a fuck up's harmless" I don't think so
Punishment for martyrs is pointless as the pardons that I spit roast
I'm stuck in limbo
