Jaded

There's a man with a will
He shouts louder than thunder
Gets what he wants
There is calm
He is kind he is violent
A carer, a killer
Can hold a young life in his arms

Now I shout when I'm angry
Eat when I'm hungry
And follow the way of my heart
My life may be easy
That's just the way it is
But if you ask me how I feel
Well I say jaded

There's a girl with a wish
To be stronger and able
To move from the side of the road
Her father took pity
'cause the girl was not too pretty
But her will was much harder than stone
So she reached for the sunshine
No worries in her way
But her surface is slowly crumbling
She will stand there and greet you
With a smile upon her face
But if you ask her how she feels
Well she'll say jaded

I can sleep at night
Hold my lover tight
Until the morning comes
But the darkness of my eyes
Shows that I'm telling a lie
I'm jaded inside
