I saw your face in another place and some other time
I met your gaze and turned a phrase, It was so alive

You fed on wine and dined on time that was given all
A wake of buzzards and a murder of crows were the friends I called

I met your fate and sealed your crate in tears and gowns
The stories told were from new to old steeped in leers and frowns

In some strange place, I've been misplaced and ostracized
Lost in the brights of someone's gaze in a place of mine

Always in stead of my old friends and confidants
So confident in my own way for my own kind

I don't belong here
I can't get on here
