Listen while you read!
Faded sun arises upon the park, the gates open on another day
Birds awaken. breathing dragon trails, a man in overalls worries the weeds away
Around, around, around, around we go
Moths circling a candlelight
Around, around, around, around
Under the big eye
The river rolls
The gardens grow
And die again
Another season
And overs throw their hearts away
In holloway park
And long ago
They roamed the rows
In other times
Of lords and ladies
Who lived and loved
Forgotten souls
Of holloway park, holloway park
And as the morning warms the joggers step the beat of their heart
A dozen mothers with their prams appear
The children play, ignore a homeless man who pushes a cart
A couple arguing don't care who hears
The river rolls
The gardens grow
And die again
Another season
And lovers throw their hearts away
In holloway park
And long ago
They roamed the rows
In other times
Of lords and ladies
Who lived and loved
Forgotten souls
Of holloway park
The people descend from the office towers on borrowed time
Unwrap their lunches and then run away
Growing shadows on the afternoon, they creep to the night
School children kiss and smoke in latticed lanes
Everybody here needs comfort
Everybody here feels pain
And everybody here breathes atmosphere again and again
Another day here is over the gates are closing on Holloway Park
The gates are closing on Holloway Park
