This is an angsty song I wrote to basically try to make a grunge song with a twist. The narrator is not presented as being right or in any way intelligent, often admitting their blind-spots.
[Verse 1:]
All I see are people made of greed
I don't know individuality
I'm always held back by the fear of rejection
That's all they ever give me anyway
[Pre-Chorus:]
But I just want to speak to let my thoughts leak
Yet nobody ever understands them
So fuck you all I'm better than that
At least that's what I think I am
[Chorus:]
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
[Verse 2:]
All I see are people who don't want me
I don't feel the need to associate
They're always held back from insurrection
But why? It's what we all need
[Pre-Chorus:]
And I just want to speak to let my thoughts leak
Yet nobody ever understands them
So fuck you all I'm better than that
At least that's what I think I am
[Chorus:]
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
[Bridge:]
Hold me back, inject me with anger
Peace is nothing but a lie
I can't see through others so I need another
Reminder that humanity is fine
[Chorus:]
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
Hate has me hostage
