Door Creaks Open

Door creaks open and I see it's face
Don't know how I'm supposed to sleep at night, knowing it's there
Can't remember what I heard it say
And I don't know if I'm hallucinating, but I'm scared

I feel it's fingertips across my back
I know it's waiting for me
I wish the sunlight would show
I just keep searching for a reason why
I bring a monster with me every place I go

Lately I've been swimming in the dangerous parts
I needed something to blame
For years I've been wishing I could see in the dark
I wish I wasn't afraid

Cat keeps hissing at the empty space
I tell him nothing's there, but now I just ain't so sure
I hear the voices coming through the wall
It's telling me about the things they say when I'm not there
Hear your footsteps coming down the hall
It's coming for me, but at this point I don't even care
