[Verse 1]
Dear world, I'm writing this song for you
Dear world, I know what you're going through
I know you're scared about tomorrow, scared of feeling hollow
I am too
Dear world, I'm writing this song for you
[Chorus]
Dear world, you ain't all that I thought you would be
A few trips ago 'round the sun
I'm trying to find out what it means to be me
I feel like I've barely begun
How many souls can be crowded together
And all of us feeling alone?
All of us longing for hope
All of us longing for hope
[Verse 2]
Dear world, I'm learning to wait for change
Dear world, your beauty is born from pain
You're looking for the magic to rise above the tragic
I am too
Dear world, I'm writing this song for you
[Chorus]
Dear world, you ain't all that I thought you would be
A few trips ago 'round the sun
I'm trying to find out what it means to be me
I feel like I've barely begun
How many souls can be crowded together
And all of us feeling alone?
All of us longing for hope
All of us longing for hope
All of us longing for hope
Dear world
Dear World was written by Jon Foreman & Jeffery David & Echosmith.
Dear World was produced by Jeffery David.
Echosmith released Dear World on Fri Sep 15 2017.
We wrote this song with Jon Forman and Jeffery David. Jon is in the band Switchfoot and their band was our first real rock show we saw as kids. Our parents surprised us one night and we drove down to Del Mar Fairgrounds and we got to see them. It was an amazing show. It’s so fun to think years later...
We recorded this song at United Recorders (Ocean Way) in the same room that Radiohead and Fleetwood Mac recorded in.
