About Echosmith

Echosmith is an alternative-pop band formed in 2009, which originally consisted of four siblings––Graham, Noah, Jamie, and Sydney Sierota. (Sydney is now a Quiseng, as she is married to Cameron Quiseng of Allstar Weekend). They went from four to three following the departure of Jamie, who decided to take care of his newborn child. Wonder how they got their name?

We were just going through anything we could think of and we went through hundreds of names.
We landed on the idea of a blacksmith shaping metals and somehow we landed on Echosmith, you know, shaping sounds. It had a cool meaning and also it was short, simple, and easy to say, and it wasn’t too genre-specific, either.

They are best known for their hit single, “Cool Kids”, which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Originally released on May 31, 2013 as the iTunes single of the week, it became a sleeper hit and didn’t reach its chart peak until mid-to-late 2014. Their debut album Talking Dreams was released on October 30, 2013, with second single “Come Together” being released on June 12, 2014, and third single “Bright” being released on February 2, 2015.

Recently, though, they came back with a second, more personal album Lonely Generation on January 10, 2020, after releasing the title track with music video “Lonely Generation” on September 27, 2019, and “Shut up and Kiss Me” on November 22, 2019.
