Darker it Grows

Raindrops racing on windows
Watching the sky fold
The darker it grows

Like mountains
Made out of shadows
Painted with purple
Green and sickly gold

When I smell it in the air
I feel it in my bones

Catch me
If I have fallen
From this cloud
That I’ve been
Floating around

Where no one
Is ever thirsty
But I’m from
Where I’m going
And that's underground

It's far from the sound
The rain on the tin taps out

Where you can’t hear life
Being wasted on living it down
Where the forgetting is so good
You won’t need to be forgiven now

When the blue of the sky
Offers her rose
To the Sun going down
You could lay it at the sight
Of the light of the love that I’ve found

And catch me if I've fallen
From this cloud
That I’ve been
Bathing in rose

Like raindrops
Tapping on tin roofs
Watch as the sky moves
The darker it grows
