LEONARD: This song is lyrically kind of a change of pace for us. Our lyrics are usually about, uh, human deformities. And we decided to kinda get off the beaten path a little bit, and we wrote a song about a real ugly girl with, uh, cross eyes, and, uh... a balcony you could read Shakespeare from, if you know what I mean. And it's called "Cross-Eyed Tammy."
Heyyy!
She doesn't have a boy to call all her own
Nobody to call her up on the phone
You can always see the sun in her eyes
And her mammaries are twice their size
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
A-da-ba-da-ba-da
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
A-da-ba-da-ba-da
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
A-da-ba-da-ba-da
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
You can take her out upon the town
She'll be looking up while looking around
If you've had enough, then take her home
Take her back into the Twilight Zone
Oh, Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
A-da-ba-da-ba-da
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
In a sweater she looks better
And i think you'll find
Cross-eyed Tammy's got a lot on her mind
[Guitarr solo]
Cross-eyed Tammy
From Alabammy
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
A-da-ba-da-ba-da
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
A-da-ba-da
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me, to me, to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
Tammy's so cross-eyed to me (cross-eyed Tammy)
Oh!
I love her!
LEONARD: Thank you. Really? You sure?
Cross-Eyed Tammy [live, London 1990] was written by Stan Lee [Dickies] & Leonard Graves Phillips.
