Cracked Foundation

Peeling paint, a caving roof
Cracked foundation through and through
The water’s leaking out of every pipe and tube
Yet I choose to ignore it like I do

My body hasn’t slept well since I was a kid
I still got problems with my dad that we covered and hid
And I’m so fucking bored trying to fix what I’ve ignored
When nobody expects you to do that anymore

Wooden floors with turned up nails
I don’t have the heart to put this house on sale
And it’s sort of nice how the problems all exist between the lines
So it looks like I’m doing well

Good things have only happened so how can you blame them
Feels like I’m building my whole life on a cracked foundation
And I’m so fucking tired
Of fixing the new shit I’ve acquired now since then
Don’t think I could do this all again
