[Verse 1]
Late nights on your pillow
Love as fast as light
Fading in to echoes
In my ventricles
I carry this cargo
Sinking deeper down
And though your love was shallow
I managed to drown
[Chorus]
Is this how you're gonna make me look now?
Is this how you're gonna walk right out?
Then you'd better do it like a champion
And break my heart once and for all
Do you feel good knowing that you've won now?
Do you get high when I hit my lows?
Yeah I hope you feel like you're a champion
When you break my heart once and for all
[Verse 2]
I keep bending barrels
You take aim and shoot
I'm on pins and needles
Your skin's bulletproof
Don't try to be noble
Leaving me for dead
And though your love is hollow
I could use a hand
[Chorus]
Is this how you're gonna make me look now?
Is this how you're gonna walk right out?
Then you'd better do it like a champion
And break my heart once and for all
Do you feel good knowing that you've won now?
Do you get high when I hit my lows?
Yeah I hope you feel like you're a champion
When you break my heart once and for all
[Outro]
Just break my heart once and for all
Do you feel good knowing that you've won now?
Do you get high when I hit my lows?
Yeah I hope you feel like you're a champion
When you break my heart once and for all
Yeah I hope you feel like you're a champion
When you break my heart once and for all
Champion was written by Anton Hård af Segerstad & Elina.
Champion was produced by Anton Hård af Segerstad.
It’s about how destructive love can be. How easy it is to build everything you are around it and how beautiful it is to lose it or seeing someone close to you lose theirs. It’s the risk we take I guess. I tried to put that into words in “Champion”.

Me and Swedish producer Anton Hård Af Segerstad wrote this song one afternoon in his studio in Stockholm back in 2017.
It’s a very straight forward, sad song. I tried to teleport myself back into heartbreak, absorb everything and then write. I wanted it to be a bit ugly, not too polished. Very close to reality.
I remember him playing the chorus melody on piano at the beginning of the session, and the song kind of wrote itself from there. The words came very naturally together with the music, it had this heavy-hearted feel to it.
