Can’t Breathe

I'm overthinking my approach to you, like should I say a simple "hi" or do I try to flow to you?
Honestly, my introduction to you's overdue, and it's been pretty hard to get a hold of you
Would've done it earlier, but I froze up, fight or flight mode activated, my mouth closed up
I turned back around, thinking "just give me a chance please", I'd try one more time, but I can't breathe
I could never translate my thoughts, music can do better though; no other options so my lyrics are Rosetta Stone
Hard for me to write this, or speak to you let alone, knowing that one mistake could leave my chances blown
I can't play the back for much longer
Should I say hello or let everything go, walk up & then talk till my jaws hurt?

All these decisions, so much that I'm conflicted, thinking to myself this is harder than I envisioned
Thought I'd quit being so shy, but I persisted; figured that writing this song would be sufficient
Spent days on this song just to get this out correctly, I just felt that all these thoughts needed expressing
All this thought into the situation is stressing, all this thought led to those thoughts being dejecting
I guess it's best to stop thinking and just say something; it's detrimental to say she'll judge it & make assumptions
Caution to the wind, I'll try to spark a conversation, if this fails, me getting over this is consolation
Repeating that to myself till I'm calm & patient; I walk up, tired of always playing it safest
