“Call Me What You Like” is an indie-rock track about being unsure of the status of a relationship, and how the speaker wants it to go further, but struggles with the commitment side of being in love. The lyricism displays a lot of uncertainty and worrisome emotions in its lyrics while following the...
[Verse 1]
I never was a fan of the internet
She never felt that safe in her own head
We both hate the news
There for the grace of God goes you
Smiling when I ask if she's bored yet
We wonder if we took it too far
Both taste confused
Darling, what am I to do?
[Pre-Chorus]
I like to think that I'm
The only guy she'll see tonight
You can call me what you like
As long as you call me
[Chorus]
And you could kiss the skin
From my lips if it makes you feel good
I'm not sure if you want it
Not sure if you need me, too
And you can taste thе beer
On every guy that talks to you
But you can't stay awake forеver
No, you can't stay awake forever
[Verse 2]
And so I find myself in your mum's bedroom
Fighting with the pink roller blinds
It's on pay-per-view
Just place your bets on who's lost their minds
You take a pirouette under duvet set
You sigh with perfect pitch and with time
I'm not made for you
But what else is new?
Oh, Lord she tells me that it's nothing
I really hope it's nothing
[Chorus]
You could kiss the skin
From my lips if it makes you feel good
I'm not sure if you want it
Not sure if you need me, too
And you can taste the beer
On every guy that talks to you
But you can't stay awake forever
No, you can't stay awake forever
[Bridge]
This just in: I am a total fucking dumbass
And I've come to the uncomfortable conclusion that I'm gonna be spending the rest of my life in a state
Of constant paranoia
Just let me follow you
And I'll proceed to bang my head on every doorway and doorframe you see suitable for us to go through
And I've found that the road to happiness
Is paved with rows and rows of very tempting parking spaces
I'm not paranoid, I'm a realist
I know you're gonna kill me
[Chorus]
You could kiss the skin
From my lips if it makes you feel good
I'm not sure if you want it
Not sure if you need me, too
And you can taste the beer
On every guy that talks to you
But you can't stay awake forever
But you can't stay awake forever
[Outro]
And you could kiss the skin
From my lips if it makes you feel good
I'm not sure if you want it
Not sure if you need me, too
And you can taste the beer
On every guy that talks to you
But you can't stay awake forever (You can't stay awake)
No, you can't stay awake forever

It’s about the phase in any kind of relationship that isn’t a relationship yet, where you’re not sure of the ‘what are we?’ That idea that you want it to be more than just a fling but you’re struggling with the commitment.

Our new era begins today… “Call Me What You Like” is out now and all yours.
The past 6 months have been a non-stop, one-way flight to heights we never quite imagined. It began with our forerunners, Lampwith Sock, ASBO BBQ and Ouijaboard Madness. We played our first ever gig as Lovejoy in August, at...
It was very validating to see it go that far. I think that was our longest-ever lyric writing time; we had the tune down for about ten months before I even penned the lyrics that ended up going in the final release. To see that time pay off is amazing, but we had no idea it would get that reception....
I decided to write a song about that liminal space before a relationship where neither of you are sure whether you are ready to commit beyond physical aspects…
