“Bring Me to Life (Synthesis)” is the first song released off Synthesis. It’s a song originally released on the 2003 album Fallen, but later revamped for Synthesis.
The song is about Amy Lee’s husband, Josh Hartzler. It was written when they first met, when they were just acquaintances.
[Verse 1]
How can you see into my eyes like open doors?
Leading you down, into my core
Where I've become so numb, without a soul
My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there, and lead it, back, home
[Chorus]
Wake me up inside
Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
Bid my blood to run
Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
[Verse 2]
Now that I know what I'm without
You can't just leave me
Breathe into me and make me real
Bring me to life
[Chorus]
Wake me up inside
Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
Bid my blood to run
Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
[Bridge]
Bring me to life
Bring me to life
[Interlude]
Frozen inside, without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you are the life
Among the dead
[Verse 3]
I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems
Got to open my eyes to everything
Don't let me die here
Bring, me, to, life
[Chorus]
Wake me up inside
Wake me up inside
Call my name and save me from the dark
Bid my blood to run
Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
[Outro]
Bring me to life
Bring me to life
Bring me to life

Lee told News.com.au:
“God bless the rap, it’s part of what got us on the radio I guess,” Lee says. “At least according to all the rules of radio that I don’t agree with or understand. The rap wasn’t part of our original idea or sound, it was a compromise in many ways. So to be able to go back to t...
“We’ve been playing this song for the past 15 years, and it’s grown past the original recording. When we first recorded it, I was 20 and still getting used to the words, the style and the notes. Everything about it was new. There’s something wonderful about doing a song for the first time, when it’s...
