I wrote this song in a conversational tone. I wanted to bring the listeners to the party with me and witness me go after the baddest woman in the party.
(Verse)
What’s ya blend like
Manuka honey skin with the twix eyes
Was in a bubble couldn’t blossom with your old guy
I swear I can feed ya soul if we soul tied
Before you get this work let’s drink dance and flirt
Look for your friend give her your purse
Leather tote with the C’s on it (Chanel)
Hopped out the ride with the B on it (Bentley)
Hold your hand on the dance floor
Niggas looking why you bring your man for
And lonely bitches wanna have a stare off
But you got on hater blockers so you wave off, sho
Ya hips something that I never seen
Slit in your dress might cause a scene
Legs up, Mercy
Soul snatched don’t leave
(Chorus)
What’s your blend like
What’s your blend like
What’s your blend like
Come spend a night on the Northside
You a whole vibe
Not hoes vibes
What’s your blend like?
What’s your blend like?
(Verse 2)
What’s ya name, where you stay
I can change both, if think you I’m the one, too
Pleased to meet you
You fine like seafood
Tell your friends come meet my peoples
We can laugh over sizzling short ribs
Lobster fried rice oxtail dumplings
Spend a in night the dream hotel
If we fuck the first night baby I won’t judge
Yanking on ya thong while kiss and hold ya
Bite ya bra straps off ya shoulder
Back rub foot rub strokes in gold tubs
Throw on a playlist won’t stop til it’s done
Ya hips something that I never seen
I Wanna give you head til it’s time to breathe
Legs up, Mercy Soul snatched don’t leave
(Chorus)
What’s your blend like
What’s your blend like
What’s your blend like
Come spend a night on the Northside
You a whole vibe
Not hoes vibes
What’s your blend like
What’s your blend like
Blend was written by L.Smith.
Blend was produced by Cobeau.
Cobeau and I wrote this song over the phone last Summer. I would rap lines and she would give her opinion. We were on the phone for a few hours til we both got tired. The next morning I sent her a finished demo. This is the last song I recorded for Northside Punch
Around Father’s Day I was at a cookout and I was watching how this one woman dancing and singing certain songs so I texted Cobeau like yo we need some party vibes for Northside Punch.
Tempted to touch by Rupee. Cobeau kept saying we have to give Blend that type of feel with the lyrics not too complicated just take listener’s to the party.
This song is influenced from growing up in Jamaica Queens going to backyard parties and Cobeau’s Trinidad roots.
