“Amaranthine” is the second song off of Joel Porter’s 2018 EP “Hiraeth”. Porter wrote this track in the wake of his then-recent proposal to his wife, infusing his music with his ecstatic joy and childlike happiness.
Tinder to my fading habitat
Ribcage kindling
Flicker you the hidden between breath
Where meadowlarks keep
Old youth in reverie
Timber offer some sort of reprieve
From peak cicatrices
Pining still where hill and harbor meet
And callused by the lake
Keep feigning evergreen
Hiver speak to me familiar peace
Solace in your solstice
On banks of “M” please tempt a friendly death
Among my reminisced
In amaranthine
Winter love and paradigm stoic
I cannot live like this
Strike the match to burn my pattern holding
Today I choose to live
Away from infinite (Someday I'll befriend to death, there I’ll stay in Infinite)
Hiver spoke to me familiar peace
Solace in her solstice
On banks of “M” she tempted friendly death
Covered my reminisced
Now for me I build from detachment (Awake from this)
New life with my Ellie (Semblance)
To blanket what we make benevolent (Let them rest here)
And build a northern Ede (Revenants)
Safe from reverie (Revenants)
Till again we meet (Revenants)
In Amaranthine
