Announcer: For outstanding individual achievement in the area of entertainment (Sunny, please may I have the envelope?). In New York, for her outstanding performance in My Name Is Barbra, an Emmy award is presented to Barbra Streisand.
Barbra: This is, uh, so, kind of wild, because I'm, when I was a kid, I mean a younger kid, I, um, I, my-my favorite shows on television were always, um, the Oscars and the Emmys, you know. And it was never, I mean, I never really cared who won, or anything like that. I used to watch, you know, they, uh, how she looked, how he looked, and was he drunk or was he drunk. And, um, so, it's like a funny thing, I think I have a run in my stocking, too, of all nights.
Anyway, um, I think what's so marvelous about, uh, this business, this television thing you got going for you. Uh, this is my first experience with it, and I was completely thrilled because I couldn't believe the amount of people that watch you in one given amount of time. Let's say an hour, which was, um, my special. And I figured it out, it would, uh, I'd have to work in the theater, in Funny Girl, fifty-eight years to, um, to reach the same amount of people.
Thank you, and thank you, Danny.
Man: You reel 'em in baby! Ha!
