Wangechi Waweru (born January 19) is an independent rapper and singer from Nairobi, Kenya who began to rise to fame in 2013 after featuring on the “Ligi Soo remix.” Later that year, she released CONSUME, a critically acclaimed mixtape that sampled popular 90‘s Hip-hop instrumentals.

In 2015, she featured on CNN’s Inside Africa, as one of the rising Kenyan artists to watch out for. Having released an EP, DON’T CONSUME IF SEAL IS BROKEN, a string of singles on her soundcloud and worked with Ne-Yo on Coke Studio Africa, she is considered one of the best new age rappers in Kenya.

On July 8, 2022, she released her official debut collaborative album CHONJO with Scar Mkadinali.
