The Office is an American television sitcom and mockumentary (fiction presented as a documentary) that aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013 over nine seasons. The series is about the lives of office workers who work for the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

It is an adaptation of a British television show of the same name and was created by Greg Daniels. It starred Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and B.J. Novak as the main cast. The Office is a single-camera sitcom without a laugh track.

The show was met with critical acclaim. It was nominated for 42 Emmy awards and won five. Star Steve Carrell won a Golden Globe for his role as Michael Scott in 2006. In addition, it was named American Film Institute’s best TV series in 2006 and 2008.
