In the late 1970s, the city council of a small city (Tylerville) in west central Alabama established a commission " to conduct a full and complete study and investigation of sex addiction in the United States." The author focuses on a single day of those hearings and how he became involved in editing the seven volumes published by the commission. Some people will only read the risque parts of this book, thus failing to grasp the significance of those hearings at that time and at that place. Of course, it's all fiction.
