‘Your Move, Darlin’ is clearly about flirting and two people playing a game (perhaps a dangerous one). Our writer, the male, seems to sense the danger, and that he won’t win, but can’t resist playing the game anyway. Love, or lust, is clouding his better judgement.
The thrill is in the chase but I'm not sure I can endure
Know better than to play this game by now
Holding 17 but I'm still thinking I should fold
I'm still holding on
Playing to the whistle
Your move darlin', let's see who blinks first
Only one winner but I'm still playing this game
Your move darlin', I know this is
The hottest game of chess I think that I've ever played
I'm trying to sink your battleship but you're evasively elusive
Frustration setting in, you're not playing fair anymore
I'd climb every ladder just to get you sliding down the snake
I'm still holding on
Playing to the whistle
Your move darlin', let's see who blinks first
Only one winner but I'm still playing this game
Your move darlin', I know this is
The hottest game of chess I think that I've ever played
