This song was first released by Peter Brewis’s pre-Field Music band, Electronic Eye Machine, on their Jesus Song EP. Originally slower and somewhat droning, it was re-recorded at a faster, upbeat tempo for release as a Field Music single. The hymn-esque segment at the beginning was added as well.
Can you function completely?
Are you sure you're not hiding something?
Without it, can you function?
What it is distracts from your vision
Can you do something different
Like you're not supposed to?
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
Your room remains the same
You're existing in the same space
You can close your eyes, you know you'll always know
You can still touch what you want when you're home
Can you do something different
Like you're not supposed to?
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
Do something different
Like you're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
Do something different
Like you're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
You're not supposed to
