She returns my wave I say "thank you" she says don't mention it
I swipe my badge against the reader, hear a muted tone
Double doors swing open and I slip into my second home
Grab some mints up off the counter
Next to pictures of our founder
Showed up at thirty past the hour

Along the glass all scrawled in marker lies the past of every idea amassed inside of squares

A couple kernel platforms sit there undisturbed, adjacent to the board room with the sign that says "reserved"
The ping pong table has red solo cups arranged into some triangles awaiting players for the evening games

Passed the room filled up with all the newest consoles
Beyond the bathroom secured by our Amazon roles
Next to the theatre that screens all of the new movies
It's a standing desk where I can work and carry out my duties

I kick my bean bag to the side and shake my cursor (shake my cursor)
Mistype my password a few times to log onto the server (server)
Dismiss the errors that I always get on boot cuz my Wi-Fi and my Ethernet are forced into the same route
Lower my desk and swivel in my Herman Miller
I open Slack so I can bring up what's for dinner
I browse the memes a bit to give my self a chuckle
Then I open up VSCode and begin to crack my knuckles (knuckles)
A gentle breeze go ofting through an open window
And my co-worker gets up to go and play on the Nintendo
My code's compiling and the Docker won't deploy
I'm gonna play Untitled Goose Game it's the only thing that brings me joy
Open my e-mail and scroll down a couple pages, half the replies are to tickets sitting in their planning stages
I select all mark as read and create filters for the rest
Kick my office chair behind me and then start to raise my desk

Bout an hour passes

He mumbles something about fixing the load balancer

Kinda thirsty better go and grab a Monster
