“Who I Am” is an interlude which serves as the eighth track on Dixie’s debut album, a letter to me. It begins and ends with a voicemail from Dixie’s grandmother, Rosemary, with Dixie lifting her verse from the chorus of the country hit “Who I Am” by Jessica Andrews.
[Intro: Rosemary D'Amelio]
Hi, Dixie, I was just thinking about you and missing you
And I needed to tell you how much I love you
And that I'm so proud to have you as my granddaughter
[Verse: Dixie]
And I am Rosemary's granddaughter
The spitting image of my father
When the day is done
My mom is still my biggest fan
Sometimes I'm clueless and I'm clumsy
But I got friends who love me
And know just where I stand
It's all a part of me
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
It's all a part of me
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
(Oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh)
[Outro: Rosemary D'Amelio]
I'm very fortunate to be able to see and enjoy
All the wonderful things you've accomplished
Always remember to never stop chasing your dreams
All my love, mama
