White Sand

Like a rabbit drowning in quicksand
I say as i try to imagine the death whisper
Of your heart dissolving through my cupped hands
Ambushed by assassins in my blind spot
I couldn't recover in time to save a sleeping child
From being pulled in by a silent tide
