Wendy Xu is a Chinese American poet born in China and raised in New York and Iowa. Taskforce is a poem largely rooted in the Tiananmen massacre and Xu’s feelings and emotions towards her home country, feelings common to many Chinese Americans. This poem was published in her book Phrasis(2017).
