“Weightless” is the ninth and final track off of Elbow’s 2019 album, Giants of All Sizes. The song is a rumination on the death of singer Guy Garvey’s father, the birth of his son, how they all look so much alike, and the continuity they all represent.

In an interview with The Irish Times, singer Guy Garvey offered the following insight into the inspiration behind the song:
One of the main things I’ve found in terms of Jack, and my dad passing away, is that Jack is the absolute image of my dad at that age. And I am the absolute image of my father...
