The Police
The first song that Sting wrote in 1977 with the precursor group to The Police, Strontium-90. Later released as the B-side to 1979’s “Walking on the Moon”.
This is the only released Police song to feature the original 4 man line up: Sting, Stuart Copeland, Andy Summers and Henry Padovani.
Gazed into the visions of the night
Seen the darkness fall
I've heard a mountain fall away from sight
Heard the thunder call
Seen the beast I call my father
Creature of the night
I feel the creeping darkness close
That electric light
They say the meek shall inherit the earth
How long will you keep it?
They sow a harvest but what's it worth?
There's no one left to reap it
Visions of the Night was written by Sting.
Visions of the Night was produced by John Cale & The Police.
The Police released Visions of the Night on Sat Dec 01 1979.
