Up All Night

I been running circles round these troubles in my head
Needless to say it’s a roller coaster ride up there
When you’re chasing that American dream
When you’re raised up from the bottom
It’s always out of reach
And its hard to make a living
When your moneys all but spend
Its hard to find direction
When the rules seem to be bend
And it seems to me that we’re just pissing in the wind
Or am I wrong?

Up all night
Its late in the city
And this cold store light
Is burning my eyes
Day and night
Working round the clock
To make things right
I’m up all night

My key it pushes through that door
When you rise to your feet
My eyes are so damn heavy
And my body needs to sleep
Just four more hours till I set back into town
It’s been months, since we have had time
To sit each other down
But we're in the red
There’s bills to pay
And I lay wide awake
Its hard to see perspective
When the nerves are ‘bout to break
Little by little we unravel
We can only lift this weight so long

Most thank God its friday
While we keep the dogs at bay
