Who would I be?
Like a river changing direction, running uphill
If we admit that human life can be ruled by reason
All possibility of life is destroyed
I never knew just how strong you had to be for me
Just how long you held on for me
I'd watch you walk away and never understood the strength it would Take I watched you pass away, decaying in the light of day
Cancer took hold and as I grew older
I knew that wouldn't be the life for me
I admire how you lived so freely
But those decisions are what took you from me
We learn from loss, absence makes the heart grow fonder
The stories I'm told will always make me wonder
If you were still here would I still be me?
If you were still here would I still be me?
