Poison dripping gently back and forth
Between us both
Ascends in increments
Outside where it collides
In sychophantic dead-end lines
Guilt alone will colour truth
It never needed me or you
Fake confessions burn my night
To waking moments

Accusations fly like birds of prey
Into the heart of my darkest day

Climbed the staircase in the rain
Risked my neck for you again
If I wanted to I could
It never does me any good

What is life without despair?
The elevated moods we share?

Forced to welcome comfort like disease
Take your medicine and leave
Wrap your fingers 'round my past -
Breaks your skin like broken glass

Bleed into the paper cup
Drink it down then spit it up
Make a mess upon the floor
On which you crawl to lock the door
